Applications – Where Modular Drilling Rigs Deliver Maximum Value

Multi-Well Pad Drilling (Shale / Tight Gas / Cluster Wells)

When you're drilling 20 wells on a single pad, moving the rig 19 times, every hour saved per move adds up. Our skidding and modular rigs move from well to well in hours, not days. That's the difference between a profitable pad and a marginal one.

Remote and Logistically Challenging Locations

Roadless jungle. Deep desert without highways. Arctic tundra. Mountain valleys. Our heli-transportable and super single-joint rigs are designed for locations where bringing in a conventional 60-truck rig would be impossible or prohibitively expensive. Five super single-joint rigs shipped to Peru in early 2026 are exactly this use case.

Ultra-Deep Desert Wells (Middle East / North Africa)

The desert demands modular rigs that can move between deep wells without becoming a logistics nightmare. Our 9,000m desert modular rigs with integrated skidding systems have been deployed in Kuwait's northern oilfield – achieving full mast rise with "technical advanced, reliable, easy to transport, economic to operate" characteristics.

Offshore Fixed Platform Drilling

Platform deck space is limited. Crane capacity is limited. Every pound and every square meter must be justified. Our offshore modular packages are designed to fit within platform constraints while delivering full drilling capability. Pre-assembled modules minimize offshore installation time – days instead of weeks.

Workover and Well Intervention

SXJ series modular workover rigs for well servicing operations in tight spaces. Quick rig-up, small footprint, and low mobilization cost. SXJ550 desert workover units have operated successfully in Niger's Sahara region.

Arctic Exploration

Modular design allows rapid camp-to-camp moves in short Arctic drilling windows. Every day saved on rig move is a day added to the drilling season before winter freeze-up. Our GOST-certified arctic modular rigs are rated for –45°C continuous operation.

Sinopec-Backed Scale and Stability

We manufacture on a 663,000㎡ campus with 17 specialized production lines, seven in-house laboratories, and over 2,000 employees. When your modular rig goes into production, we have the capacity to deliver on schedule. No startup risks. No third-party fabrication delays. Just Sinopec-backed manufacturing reliability.

Engineering Depth – Not Just Assembly

Modular drilling rigs are not simply standard rigs cut into pieces. A good modular rig is designed from the ground up as a modular system – every connection, every interface, every weight consideration engineered for disassembly and reassembly. Our engineering team has been designing modular rigs for over two decades. We've learned what works and what doesn't. Your rig benefits from that experience.

API Certified – No Shortcuts

API 4F, 7K, 8C monograms. ISO9001. HSE. GOST Russia. CE. We carry the certifications the industry demands. Third-party inspections are not just allowed – they're routine. Multiple BV, DNV, and ABS inspectors have walked our factory floor. All documentation is available for your review.

Custom Engineering as Standard

We don't have a "standard modular rig" that we force you to accept. Our engineering team works with your project parameters – depth, terrain, climate, mobility requirements, power preference – and designs the modular rig you actually need.

Our modular drilling rigs typically cost 15–25% less than comparable Western-built equipment – not because we cut corners, but because our cost base is lower.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What's the difference between a modular drilling rig and a conventional rig?

A: A conventional rig is designed to be assembled once and stay put. When it needs to move, every component is disassembled, trucked, and reassembled – a process taking 10–15 days. A modular drilling rig is designed from the ground up for repeated disassembly and reassembly. Modules are pre-piped and pre-wired at the factory. Transport is in large, self-contained modules rather than hundreds of loose components. Rig-up is measured in days, not weeks, often without requiring a crane.

Q2: How fast can your modular rigs move between wells?

A: For our BE series (BE550/BE770) on multi-well pads or short-distance moves, rig-up time is 1–2 days using six trailers and no crane. For our super single-joint rigs, typical rig move takes 2–3 days. For our heavy-load skidding system on pad-to-pad moves (50–200m spacing), the rig can be moved in a single shift – hours, not days. Compare this to conventional rigs requiring 10–15 days for comparable moves.

Q3: What certifications do your modular drilling rigs hold?

A: API 4F, 7K, and 8C with API monogram authorization. We also maintain ISO9001, ISO14001, HSE, GOST (Russia), and CE certifications for applicable export markets. Full certification documentation is available upon request.

Q4: What's the minimum order quantity for a custom modular rig?

A: One. We don't require fleet orders to justify custom engineering. Whether you need a single modular rig for a specific project or a fleet for a multi-year field development, we provide the same level of engineering support.

Q5: Can you provide references or case studies from existing modular rig customers?

A: Yes. We can provide non-confidential case studies and reference contacts from customers in the Middle East, South America, Russia, and Southeast Asia. Recent references include our five-super single-joint rig shipment to Peru (March 2026)and our six-rig 9,000m desert modular rig program for Kuwait(2025).

Q6: Can I send my own inspector to your factory?

A: Absolutely. Customer-nominated third-party inspections are welcome at every stage of manufacturing. We routinely accommodate inspectors from BV, DNV, ABS, and customer-designated agencies.

Q7: What's the typical lead time for a modular drilling rig?

A: 6–9 months for standard modular configurations(BE series, super single-joint), 9–12 months for custom-modular deep or ultra-deep rigs(7,000–9,000m), and 12–18 months for highly customized or offshore modular rigs. Rush delivery may be possible depending on current production schedule.

Q8: Do you provide onsite assembly and commissioning?

A: Yes. Our field service engineers travel with each major modular rig shipment to oversee module assembly, interconnections, commissioning, and initial drilling operations. We also provide comprehensive training for your crews – either at our Jingzhou facility or onsite.

Q9: What's your spare parts support for modular rigs?

A: We maintain global spare parts inventory for all modular rig components. Critical components are shipped within 48–72 hours for most locations. For fleet operators, we offer consignment inventory programs to ensure parts availability at your operating base.

Q10: Can you help with shipping logistics?

A: Yes. We have extensive experience with export logistics for modular rigs – containerization, sea freight booking, customs documentation, and port handling. We can arrange shipping to any major port worldwide, or you may use your own freight forwarder.

Q11: What payment terms do you offer?

A: Standard terms are negotiable based on order size and customer credit history. Typical arrangements include Letter of Credit(L/C) or Telegraphic Transfer(T/T) with milestone payments tied to production, testing, and delivery milestones.

Q12: How do I get a custom quotation for a modular drilling rig?

A: Contact our international sales team with your project specifications: target drilling depth, well count and spacing(to determine mobility requirements), terrain conditions, power preference(diesel, electric, or hybrid), and any specific certification requirements. We'll respond within 48 hours with an initial technical assessment and quotation timeline.
