OEM Customized Solutions – We Build to Your Flow Sheet, Not a Catalog
Manifold systems are almost never off-the-shelf. Your well control philosophy, pump configuration, platform layout, and operating pressures are unique. SJ treats every manifold order as a custom engineering project.
What we customize:
| Your Requirement | Our Engineering Response |
|---|---|
| Specific pressure rating | Any rating from 21 MPa to 175 MPa (25,000 psi) |
| Non-standard valve arrangement | We draw your P&ID – then build it. 2 choke stations? 4? In parallel or series? Your choice. |
| Special connection types | Any hammer union (602/1002/1502/2002), any API flange size and rating, any thread (NPT, BSP, metric), weld ends |
| Compact footprint for tight decks | Vertical stack manifolds, narrow skids (as little as 1.5m wide), foldable work platforms |
| Remote actuation & automation | Hydraulic, pneumatic, or electric actuation on any valve. Full control panel integration – local or remote (4-20 mA, digital bus, or fiber) |
| Integration with existing controls | We interface to your existing control system – match valve position feedback, pressure transmitter signals, and emergency shutdown protocols |
| Sour service (H₂S) | NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 complete – all wetted parts hardness controlled, corrosion-resistant alloys |
| Arctic or desert environment | Low-temp materials and lubricants, or high-temp seals and sunshades – as required |
| Reverse-engineered drop-in replacement | We measure your existing manifold. The new one bolts up exactly. No re-piping. |
| Modular split for crane limits | One manifold becomes two or three skids with pre-tested jumpers – each skid within your crane capacity |
Our engineering process:
Step 1 – Define: You send operating pressures, flow rates, fluid type (mud, frac, cement, gas), P&ID sketch, connection points, and space constraints.
Step 2 – Design: Our manifold engineering team (dedicated HP manifold group within our High Pressure Manifold Research Room) produces 3D model, structural drawings, and bill of materials. We share models in Navisworks or STEP format.
Step 3 – Approve: Joint review – adjust valve locations, actuator types, skid dimensions.
Step 4 – Fabricate: Machining, welding, assembly on dedicated manifold production line. All valves manufactured in-house.
Step 5 – Test: Full assembly pressure test (1.5x working). Control system function test. Your inspector or third-party agency can witness.
Step 6 – Document: Complete traceability package – material certs, NDE reports, pressure test records, API monogram certificates.
Step 7 – Ship: Skid-mounted, protected for sea freight or trucking. On-site commissioning available.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: What is the difference between a manifold and a simple pipe spool assembly?
A: A manifold is an engineered system with multiple valves, instruments, and flow paths designed for a specific control function (e.g., choke & kill, fracturing distribution). A pipe spool is just a fabricated section of pipe. SJ builds complete manifolds – not just spools.
Q2: What API certifications apply to your manifold systems?
A: API 16C (choke and kill manifolds) and API 6A (wellhead components including manifolds). We also hold API 4F, 7K, and 8C for related drilling equipment.
Q3: Can you build a manifold to my P&ID?
A: Yes – send us your P&ID, pressure rating, connection types, and space envelope. We'll convert it into a 3D model and build exactly to your flow sheet.
Q4: What is the typical lead time for a custom manifold system?
A: Standard custom manifold (4-6 valve stations, moderate pressure): 12–16 weeks. Large fracturing manifold (8+ stations, high pressure, full actuation): 20–24 weeks. Rush options available.
Q5: Do you offer remote-operated choke manifolds?
A: Yes – all our choke & kill manifolds can be supplied with hydraulic remote choke actuators, control panel with pressure gauges, and position indicators. We also supply electronic control systems with 4‑20 mA feedback.
Q6: How do you handle sour service (H₂S) requirements?
A: We manufacture to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156. Hardness-controlled carbon steel bodies, stainless steel or Inconel trim, special elastomers. Full documentation provided.
Q7: Can you supply a manifold that fits inside a shipping container?
A: Yes – we design manifold skids to fit ISO 20' or 40' container internal dimensions. For larger manifolds, we split into multiple container-sized skids with interconnecting jumpers.
Q8: What documentation do you provide with a manifold system?
A: Complete traceability package: mill certificates, dimensional reports, NDE reports (MT, UT, PT), pressure test certificates, API monogram certificates, as-built drawings, and component operation manuals.
Q9: Do you provide on-site installation and commissioning?
A: Yes – our field service engineers can supervise manifold placement, connection, pressure testing, and control system setup. Typical on-site duration: 1–2 weeks.
Q10: How do I get a quote?
