Application Areas
This rig class is specifically designed for high-stakes mobility:
-
Multi-Well Pad Drilling (Shale/Oil Sands): When you need to drill 10+ wells from a single pad, continuous "step-out" moves between wells are required. Our rig reduces this downtime to hours, significantly boosting annual footage drilled.
-
Remote & Perimeter / Frontier Exploration: Areas with zero existing infrastructure, like deep jungle or arctic tundra. The ability to fly the smaller components in or truck them over rough trails makes these projects economically viable.
-
Emergency Relief or Offset Wells: When a blowout occurs or a strategic offset well is required urgently, our rapid-assembly rig can be deployed faster than conventional rigs, saving critical days in the well control response timeline.
Product Types
We offer three distinct rapid-relocation architectures to match your mobility requirements:
-
Trailer-Mounted Rapid-Response Rig: Fully road-legal for long-distance moves between counties. The main components are integrated into high-clearance heavy-duty trailers.
-
Containerized Rapid-Transit Rig: The ultimate remote-logistics solution. The entire rig dismantles into standard 40ft HC shipping containers, allowing for easy rail, barge, or flatbed truck transport.
-
Jack-Up Skid-Mount (Pad-to-Pad) Rig: Designed to slide across a large well pad using its own hydraulic skid system. It shortens the move time between wellheads to 3 hours.
Why Choose Our Rapid-Relocation Rig System?
If you are a drilling contractor or oil & gas operator looking to save money, it starts with a faster rig move. But speed means nothing without reliability.
-
Significant Rig-Up Cost Reduction: We designed our rig to cost drastically less per move by eliminating expensive standby crane rentals. The self-erection system does 80% of the lifting work.
-
Uncompromised Drilling Performance: Just because it moves fast doesn't mean it's light-duty. Our rapid-relocation rigs are built with the same high-yield steel and robust draw works as our standard ZJ series, offering full drilling capability.
-
True OEM Customization: We don't just sell a black box. We work with you to integrate your specific logging tools, BOP stack requirements, and power generation preferences into the rapid-relocation framework.
-
Extensive Spare Parts Availability: Because moving equipment shakes and vibrates more than stationary rigs, we stock a higher inventory of wear parts (bolts, hydraulic seals, hoses) specifically tuned for this type of rig.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What is the main difference between this "Rapid" rig and a standard modular rig?
A: A standard modular rig focuses on breaking down into smaller parts for transport. Our rapid-relocation, rapid-assembly rig focuses on the outcome: minimizing total "Move + Rig-Up" time. We achieve this through factory pre-assembly and self-erection capabilities that standard modular rigs lack.
Q: How long does it take to move your 5000m rig between two wells 200 meters apart?
A: If the ground is firm and level, you can have the rig skidded, lowered, and re-erected in approximately 6 to 8 hours. If you need to use a heavy-haul truck for a 1km move, count on 12 to 16 hours.
Q: What is the biggest mobile crane I need for assembly?
A: You don't need a major mobile crane for the main assembly. The hydraulic self-erection system handles the mast and draw works. You only need a smaller 25-ton rough-terrain crane to place the modules on the pad and to help with the skid base.
Q: Can this rig handle high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) wells?
A: Yes, provided the driller selects the corresponding heavier-duty draw works and reinforced mast/mud pumps. Our Rapid-7000 model, in particular, is rated for 7,000m depth and can be fitted with high-pressure (15,000 psi) BOP stacks and mud systems.
Q: Do you offer leasing options for these rigs?
A: Typically, we work on a sales basis. However, for specific turnkey drilling or multi-year service contracts, we can discuss lease-to-own or operational leasing arrangements. Please contact our sales engineering team for a specific lease quote.
