SJ is different. We operate our own foundries, machining facilities, assembly lines, and test labs. Our manufacturing capabilities include seven dedicated production lines covering drawworks, gear boxes, cylinders, masts, high-pressure manifolds, plunger pumps, and post-treatment processes. Three assembly lines handle drilling rigs, workover rigs, and cementing and fracturing equipment.

Our 50,000-square-meter rig assembly yard features 24 rigging-up positions and two offshore rig commissioning sites capable of testing up to 750 tons. This isn’t theoretical capacity. We can simultaneously build and test multiple rigs for multiple customers.

True API Certification

Anyone can claim API compliance. SJ actually holds the licenses.

Our drilling rigs are designed and manufactured in accordance with API Spec 4F (drilling and well servicing structures), API Spec 7K (drilling equipment), and API Spec 8C (derricks and masts). API Spec 4F covers derricks, masts, crown block assemblies, and substructures. API 7K governs rotary drilling equipment. API 8C certifies hoisting sheaves, power swivels, and wire-line anchors.

Additionally, SJ holds API Q1, ISO 9001, and HSE management system certifications. These certifications are subject to regular third-party audits. When your regulatory authority or insurance underwriter demands proof of compliance, SJ provides documentation that passes scrutiny.

• Russia: SJ delivered three ZJ40 truck-mounted cold-weather drilling rigs to Orienburg Drilling Company in Russia. These rigs are specially designed for arctic conditions, with cold-weather materials and heat preservation processes allowing normal operation from +45°C down to -45°C and storage down to -60°C. The contract was executed under DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms, with SJ handling all customs clearance and import charges.

• Kuwait: SJ exported six ZJ90DB (3,000 HP) deep well drilling machines to the State of Kuwait, marking a breakthrough as "Made in Jingzhou's" inaugural bulk export of large-scale drilling machines to the Middle East's high-end market.

• Global: SJ products are exported to the United States, Canada, Russia, the Middle East, West Africa, Southeast Asia, and more than 30 countries and regions worldwide. The "SJPETRO" trademark is registered in the United States.

ZJ Series Truck-Mounted Drilling Rigs – The Workhorses

Our ZJ series is the backbone of SJ’s drilling rig product line. These self-propelled units are designed for rapid relocation between well pads, infill drilling programs, and remote exploration campaigns. The chassis load distribution is carefully engineered to maintain reasonable axle loads and excellent off-road mobility.

Key models include:

• ZJ10 (1,000 m): Entry-level truck-mounted rig for shallow well drilling, water wells, and light exploration. Powered by single CAT C9 with Allison 4700 OFS transmission.

• ZJ30 (3,000 m): Dual-engine configuration (2 × CAT C15, 2 × Allison S5610HR) with 14×8 carrier. Maximum hook load 1,800 kN.

• ZJ40 (4,000 m): Our most popular deep-capacity truck-mounted model. Dual CAT C18 engines (630 hp each) with dual Allison M6620AR transmissions. 14×10 carrier. Max hook load 2,250 kN. The ZJ40 has been extensively deployed in Russia, Kuwait, and other international markets.

XJ Series – The Dual-Purpose Machine

SJ’s XJ series workover rigs are designed for both heavy well intervention and light drilling duty. With maximum static load ranging from 300 kN to 2,250 kN and installed power from 235 to 1,300 hp, models include XJ150, XJ250, XJ350, XJ450, XJ550, XJ650, XJ1000 and XJ1200.

The XJ450 (80-ton) model has a workover depth up to 4,500 m and a service depth up to 5,500 m. Equipped with rotary table, swivel and drilling tools, it can perform as a mobile drilling rig up to 1,500 m depth. This dual-purpose capability eliminates the need to maintain separate fleets for drilling and well service.

BigEasy Series (BE550 / BE770) – Crane-Free Pad Drilling

The BigEasy series represents a fundamentally different approach to drilling rig design. Jointly developed by SJ and LOADMASTER, these AC VFD drilling rigs feature a trailer-mounted modular structure that requires absolutely no crane for rig-up or rig-down.

The concept is exactly what the name suggests: "big and easy." The drilling rig can be put into installation position on a well site using only six trailers, with fast installation without any crane. The low-position installed VFD drawworks system provides smooth, stepless power delivery and regenerative braking.

The BigEasy series is ideal for pad drilling programs where multiple wells are drilled from the same location. The ability to rig up and rig down without a crane dramatically reduces equipment rental costs, onsite personnel exposure, and total mobilization time.

Mud Pumps and Fluid Control Equipment

In addition to complete drilling rigs, SJ manufactures a comprehensive range of drilling mud pumps and high-pressure fluid control equipment. Our production capabilities include 500 sets per year of various plunger pumps and piston pump assemblies and components.
