Applications – Where Mobile Workover Rigs Shine

Our mobile well service rig is proven in these scenarios:

Application Why Mobile Rig Works
Scattered shallow wells (e.g., CBM, heavy oil) Move 3–4 times per week – no heavy transport costs
Emergency sand cleanouts Drive directly to the well, rig up, circulate within 3 hours
Workover campaigns on existing pads Move between pads on the same lease in under 2 hours
Remote jungle / desert fields Self-sufficient power & fuel – no grid or camp needed
Supplemental capacity for large operators Keep one mobile rig on standby for unplanned failures

Product Types – Choose Your Mobile Platform

We manufacture three main variants of the mobile workover rig:

Type Hook Load Chassis Best For
SJW-M90 90,000 lbs 4×2 truck (smaller) Very shallow wells, budget-conscious
SJW-M150 150,000 lbs 6×4 truck Standard workover, most common
SJW-M200T 200,000 lbs Hydraulic trailer Heavier tubing pulls, deeper wells (up to 14,000 ft)

Why Choose SJ Petroleum Machinery for Your Mobile Workover Rig?

1. Thousands of Road Miles Proven
Our mobile rigs have logged over 500,000 km combined across Australia, Kazakhstan, and Canada. We know what breaks on rough roads – and we’ve reinforced every weak point.

2. Built for Frequent Moves
We use locking pins with safety retainers (no loose parts), quick-disconnect hydraulic couplers (color-coded), and cable trays that fold. One person can prepare the rig for move in 30 minutes.

3. Parts Availability – Even for the Truck Chassis
We use commercial truck chassis (Mercedes, MAN, Volvo, or Sinotruk – your choice). Engine and transmission parts are available worldwide. No proprietary chassis traps.

4. Flexible Financing
Because our mobile workover rigs are road vehicles, they qualify for vehicle financing in many countries. Leasing and rental-purchase options also available.

5. Field Service from Regional Hubs
We have mobile service vans in Houston, Dubai, and Singapore stocked with hydraulic hoses, valves, and control components. Technician dispatched within 48 hours.

6. Custom Paint & Signage
We can paint the rig in your corporate colors and add your logo. Great for workover contractors who want professional branding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the difference between a mobile workover rig and a conventional skid rig?
A mobile rig has its own wheels (truck or trailer) and folds up for highway travel. A skid rig requires a separate truck and lowboy trailer, plus a crane to load/unload. Mobile rigs move faster and need fewer support vehicles.

Q2: Does your mobile workover rig require a special driver’s license?
In most jurisdictions, the truck-mounted version (under 26,000 kg GVWR) can be driven with a standard commercial license (CDL class B or equivalent). Heavier versions or trailers may require endorsements. We provide documentation for registration.

Q3: Can the rig operate on soft ground without sinking?
Yes. The outriggers have large foot pads (2 ft × 2 ft). For very soft conditions, we offer optional track pads or a trailer version with wider tires. Contact us with your typical soil bearing pressure.

Q4: What is the maximum well depth this rig can service?
With 150,000 lbs hook load and 2-7/8" tubing, you can work over wells to approximately 12,000 ft (3,650 m). For deeper wells, choose the SJW-M200T trailer version (200k lbs, 14,000 ft depth).

Q5: Do you provide training for mobile rig operators?
Yes. Training includes: highway transport procedures, mast raising/lowering safety, outrigger placement on slopes, and emergency response. 5 days total. We also provide a laminated checklist for each rig.

Q6: Can I add a snubbing unit to a mobile workover rig?
Yes, but it adds weight and transport height. We offer a lightweight snubbing stack (10k psi, 100k lbs) that mounts below the mast. The trailer version handles snubbing better than the truck version.

Q7: How does your mobile rig compare to a coiled tubing unit?
Coiled tubing is better for continuous circulating and long horizontal sections. Our mobile workover rig is better for pulling rods/tubing, fishing, and casing repair. Many contractors own both.

Q8: What is the warranty on a mobile workover rig?
12 months or 2,000 operating hours (whichever first). Chassis warranty is covered by the truck manufacturer (typically 24 months). We warranty our hydraulic system, mast, and control system for 12 months.

Q9: Can I get a demonstration unit?
We have two demonstration mobile workover rigs (SJW-M150) available for paid field trials – minimum 3 months. The rental fee is credited toward purchase if you buy within 6 months.

Q10: How long does it take to manufacture a mobile workover rig?
For standard SJW-M150 on a Sinotruk chassis: 5–6 months from order to FOB China port. For a specific truck brand (e.g., Volvo), add 2–3 months for chassis procurement.
