Why Choose SJ Petro for Deep Well Drilling Machinery?

1. Ultra‑Deep Experience – We have delivered drilling systems for wells exceeding 8,500 meters (27,800 ft). Our engineers understand the unique demands of extreme depth.

2. HPHT Engineering Capability – Pressure ratings to 20,000 psi, temperature ratings to 220°C. We can supply high‑temperature elastomers, cooling systems, and specialized seals.

3. API & NACE Certification – Full API 4F, 7K, 8C, 7‑1, 16A. NACE MR0175 for sour service available on all wetted components.

4. Custom Design for Your Formation – We do not offer "off‑the‑shelf” deep rigs. We analyze your planned depth, casing program, expected pressures, and logistics to design the optimal machinery set.

5. Global Service & Spares – Regional hubs in Houston, Dubai, Singapore stock deep‑well specific spares (large wireline, high‑pressure pump parts, BOP seals). 24/7 technical support.

6. Sinopec Backing – As a Sinopec subsidiary, we have access to proprietary drilling data from thousands of deep wells – refining our designs continuously.

7. Comprehensive Training – We train your crews on the specific challenges of deep drilling – high‑torque connections, surge/swab control, BOP drills at extreme depths, and stuck pipe prevention.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What is the maximum depth your deep well drilling machinery can handle?
Our largest system is rated for 9,000 meters (29,500 ft) with 5″ drill pipe. For depths beyond that, we custom engineer – but 9,000m covers most ultra‑deep projects today.

Q2: What pressure rating do your BOPs and mud systems have?
Standard deep packages: 10,000 psi or 15,000 psi working pressure. For HPHT wells, we offer 20,000 psi systems. Specify your expected formation pressure.

Q3: Can your deep drilling machinery handle high‑temperature geothermal wells (200°C+)?
Yes. We use high‑temperature elastomers (Viton, AFLAS, or Kalrez) in mud pump seals, BOP rubbers, and downhole tools. We also add forced cooling to drawworks brakes and top drive motors.

Q4: Do you provide NACE / sour service deep drilling equipment?
Absolutely. We supply material classes CC through HH (per NACE MR0175) for all wetted components – drill string, BOPs, mud pumps, and surface equipment.

Q5: How many mud pumps are typically used on a deep well rig?
Two or three triplex pumps in parallel. For 8,000m wells, we often supply 2 × 2,200 HP pumps, with the third as backup. Circulation rates of 800–1,200 GPM at 4,000–5,000 psi are common.

Q6: What kind of wireline do you use for deep drawworks?
1‑3/4″ (44 mm) diameter, extra‑improved plow steel (EIPS) or more often 1‑1/2″ for depths up to 7,000m. We also supply non‑rotating wireline for heave compensation on offshore rigs.

Q7: How long does it take to rig up a deep well drilling rig?
First well on a new pad: 30–45 days for a 7,000m class rig (assuming full modular transport and assembly). Subsequent wells on the same pad (with skidding) are much faster – see our dual rig moving systems.

Q8: Do you offer electric drives (AC‑VFD) for deep rigs?
Yes. Most deep rigs today use AC‑VFD for drawworks, top drive, and mud pumps. We supply complete electrical packages including generators (if diesel‑electric) or grid connection switchgear.

Q9: What is the typical lead time for a complete deep well drilling package?
12–18 months from contract to FOB China port for a 7,000m class rig. Custom or ultra‑deep (9,000m) rigs: 18–24 months.

Q10: Can you supply drill pipe and downhole tools as part of the package?
Yes, we can source API‑spec drill pipe (Grade E, X, G, S), heavyweight drill pipe, drill collars, stabilizers, and bottom hole assembly components. Specify your required sizes and grades.

Q11: Do you provide on‑site commissioning and training for deep drilling crews?
Yes. Our commissioning team stays for the first 3–4 months of operation – including first run to TD. Training covers deep drilling specific topics: connection procedures at high hook loads, BOP drills, managed pressure drilling interfaces, and stuck pipe prevention.

Q12: How do I get a deep well drilling machinery quote?
Provide: planned total depth (TVD and MD), casing program (size and depth), expected formation pressure and temperature, desired hook load, preferred drive type, and any special requirements (offshore, sour gas, arctic). We will respond with a technical proposal and fixed price within 10 business days.
