Applications – Which Equipment for Which Well Type?
| Well / Operation Type | Recommended Cementing Equipment | Key Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Land shallow (<2,000m) | SJ‑CS‑1 or SJ‑CT‑2 + basic float equipment | 10,000 psi sufficient, fast moves |
| Land deep (4,000‑7,000m) | SJ‑CS‑2 (twin pump) + high‑pressure tools | Redundancy, 15,000 psi |
| Offshore platform (crane limited) | SJ‑CS‑2S split skid + marine centralizers | Each half <15t, corrosion protection |
| Deepwater drillship (2,000‑3,000m water depth) | SJ‑HP (18k psi) + foam module + subsea tools | High pressure, gas hydrates prevention |
| Multi‑well pad (shale / tight gas) | SJ‑CT‑2 truck unit + bulk tanks on skids | Fast moves, batch cementing |
| Remedial squeeze / P&A | SJ‑CS‑1 small unit + cementing head | Low rate, precise volume |
| Arctic / permafrost | Any unit with arctic package + heated mix water | -40°C operation |
Why Choose SJ Petro for Cementing Equipment & Units?
1. Single Source for Everything – Cementing units, bulk systems, downhole tools, automation – we manufacture it all. One PO, one inspection, one warranty.
2. API 7K & 10D Certified – Full traceability, third‑party witness available. Not "designed to API” – actually certified.
3. Field‑Proven ACM Accuracy – ±0.02 g/cm³ density control on thousands of jobs. Non‑radioactive Micro Motion meter – safer and easier to permit.
4. Modular & Scalable – Start with a single skid, add bulk tanks later, upgrade to twin pump. Same components, same training.
5. Global Spares Availability – Pump parts, ACM sensors, centralizers stocked in Houston, Dubai, Singapore. 72‑hour emergency air freight from China.
6. Flexible Commercial Models – Buy outright, lease, rent, or consignment stock. We work with your budget.
7. Short Lead Times – Skid units in 4‑5 months (vs 8‑12 months from many competitors). Downhole tools shipped in 2‑4 weeks.
8. Sinopec Engineering Backing – Continuous improvement based on thousands of cementing jobs across Sinopec’s global operations.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: What is the difference between a cementing unit and cementing equipment?
A cementing unit is the pump + mixer + control on a skid or truck. Cementing equipment includes the unit plus bulk tanks, mix water systems, additive pumps, downhole tools, and data acquisition. We supply both.
Q2: Can I buy a cementing unit without the ACM automatic density control?
We strongly recommend ACM – it eliminates human error and ensures consistent slurry density. However, we can supply units with manual mixing for budget projects. Contact us.
Q3: What is the typical lifespan of your cementing equipment?
With proper maintenance, 15‑20 years. We have units built in 2010 still in daily operation. We provide refurbishment kits at year 10.
Q4: How do I choose between single and twin pump?
Choose single pump for: wells <4,000m, budget priority, shallow depth. Choose twin pump for: deep wells (>4,000m), HPHT, offshore, or any job where pump failure would be catastrophic.
Q5: Do your downhole tools fit other manufacturers’ float equipment?
Our float shoes and collars are dimensionally interchangeable with major API 10D brands. Threads are standard API 8‑round or BTC. For premium threads, we manufacture to your specification.
Q6: Can you provide a complete cementing spread (unit + bulk + tools) on a single skid?
Yes – we design and build integrated cementing systems where the unit, bulk tank, and water tank share a common base. Ideal for offshore or tight space.
Q7: What is the lead time for a complete equipment package?
Skid unit + bulk tanks + tools: 5‑7 months depending on complexity. Truck unit + bulk: 6‑8 months. Split offshore system: 7‑9 months.
Q8: Do you offer training on how to use the equipment?
Yes – 2‑3 days on‑site training covering ACM operation, pumping techniques, bulk handling, tool assembly, and DAS reporting. Simulator training also available.
Q9: Can your equipment be used for acidizing or fracturing?
With appropriate corrosion‑resistant fluid ends (stainless steel or special coatings), yes. Standard carbon steel is not acid‑resistant. Specify intended fluids at order.
Q10: What is the warranty on cementing equipment?
18 months from shipment or 12 months from commissioning (whichever first). Wear items (pump packing, seals) have 6 months warranty.
Q11: Do you provide spare parts kits with the first order?
Yes – we recommend a first‑year spares kit tailored to your expected job frequency. We can also set up an automated replenishment program.
Q12: How do I get a quote for cementing equipment?
Provide: equipment type (skid/truck/offshore), required pressure and rate, single or twin pump, environment (land/offshore/desert/arctic), and whether you need bulk tanks and tools. We will respond within 5 business days.
