Product Types – Truck Mounted Rigs We Manufacture

1. XJ Series Workover Rigs (Light, Medium, Heavy)

  • XJ150–XJ350 – Light to medium workover. Ideal for shallow wells (2,000–4,500m workover depth). The XJ350 is our best‑selling export model, with hundreds operating in the United States. Available with 25m, 29m, or 31m telescoping mast.

  • XJ450–XJ650 – Medium to heavy workover. Dual‑purpose machines that can also drill shallow wells (1,500–2,500m). Equipped with larger drawworks and heavier chassis.

  • XJ850–XJ1200 – Ultra‑deep workover (up to 10,500m) and light drilling. Heavy‑duty 14×10 chassis, twin engines, designed for HPHT intervention.

2. ZJ Series Truck Mounted Drilling Rigs

  • ZJ15–ZJ30 – Shallow to medium drilling (1,500–3,000m). Perfect for tight gas, coalbed methane, or development drilling in mature fields.

  • ZJ40 – Our flagship truck mounted drilling rig. 4,000m depth, 2,250 kN hook load, 14×10 chassis with twin Caterpillar C18 engines and Allison transmissions. Available in standard and arctic configurations.

3. Arctic / Cold‑Weather Rigs

Specifically engineered for -45°C operation. Includes pre‑heating systems, low‑temperature hydraulic fluids, insulated cabs, engine block heaters, and battery warmers. SJ Petro delivered three ZJ40 arctic rigs to Russia’s Orenburg Drilling Company – field proven.

4. Custom & Specialized Rigs

We build truck mounted rigs for unusual applications: desert cooling packages, high‑altitude operation (4,000m+ elevation), offshore platform skid versions (not truck‑mounted), and specialty well service units (coiled tubing, snubbing).

5. Refurbished / Used Rigs

We occasionally have trade‑ins from customers upgrading their fleets. Refurbished rigs include new wear parts, fresh paint, full load testing, and a 6‑month warranty. Prices are typically 40–60% of new. Contact us for current inventory.

Applications – Where Our Truck Mounted Rigs Are Used

SJ Petro truck mounted rigs are deployed across a wide range of onshore operations:

  • Well workover & recompletion – pulling rods, tubing, pumps; fishing; scale removal; zone isolation.

  • Shallow to medium drilling – oil, gas, coalbed methane, water, and geothermal wells.

  • Cluster well development – fast moves between closely spaced wellheads (hours, not days).

  • Remote exploration – self‑propelled rigs access locations with poor roads or no crane support.

  • Heavy workover in deep wells – XJ850 and XJ1200 handle 8,000–10,000m depths.

  • Arctic drilling campaigns – winterized rigs for Siberia, Northern Canada, Alaska.

  • Desert development – sand‑sealed components, oversized cooling, reinforced chassis.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – Truck Mounted Rig Manufacturers

Q1: How do I know SJ Petro is a real manufacturer and not a trading company?

A: We invite you to visit our factory in Jingzhou, China. You will see our fabrication shops, machining lines, assembly bays, and load test stands. We hold API Q1, ISO 9001, and multiple product certifications. We are a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Sinopec Oilfield Equipment Corporation – one of China’s largest oilfield equipment manufacturers. We don’t hide behind trading companies.

Q2: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for a truck mounted rig?

A: One rig. We sell to independent contractors and small operators. No MOQ beyond a single unit.

Q3: Do you sell rigs to customers in the United States?

A: Yes. Our XJ350 workover rigs are widely used in the US – Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and other states. We understand US road legal requirements, OSHA standards, and API certification needs. We can provide rigs that meet US specifications, including Caterpillar or Detroit engines and Allison transmissions.

Q4: Are your rigs available with Caterpillar or Detroit engines?

A: Yes. Standard engines on our XJ350 are Caterpillar C9 (260 kW) or Detroit S60 (298 kW) with Allison 4700 OFS or M5610s transmissions. For ZJ40, we use dual Caterpillar C18 engines (630 HP each) with Allison M6620AR transmissions.

Q5: What is the typical lead time for a new truck mounted rig?

A: 4–5 months for XJ350 standard configuration. 5–7 months for ZJ40. 7–9 months for custom builds (arctic, special chassis, etc.). We maintain a rolling production schedule; contact us for current slot availability.

Q6: Do you offer financing or leasing for truck mounted rigs?

A: Yes. For qualified buyers, we offer direct financing (through partner banks), operating leases, and milestone payment plans (30/40/30). We have financed rigs for customers in North America, Russia, and Southeast Asia.

Q7: Can I buy a refurbished rig to save money?

A: Yes. We occasionally have trade‑ins from customers upgrading their fleets. Refurbished rigs are disassembled, inspected, fitted with new wear parts, repainted, load tested, and come with a 6‑month warranty. Typical price is 40–60% of new. Contact us for current availability.

Q8: What is the warranty on a new truck mounted rig?

A: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after shipment – whichever comes first. Coverage includes manufacturing defects on all components (chassis modifications, engine/transmission installation, drawworks, mast, hydraulics). Wear parts are not covered but are available as spares.

Q9: Do you provide on‑site training?

A: Yes. For every new rig purchase, we include one week of on‑site training during commissioning for up to five crew members. Additional training (factory courses, extended field training) is available at extra cost.

Q10: How do I get a price quote?

A: Contact our sales team with:

  • Required depth (workover or drilling)

  • Preferred chassis drive (6×6, 8×8, 14×10, etc.)

  • Engine preference (Caterpillar, Detroit, etc.)

  • Any special requirements (arctic, desert, API monogram, automation)

  • Delivery destination

We respond within 48 hours with a line‑itemed quote, lead time, and delivery options.

Q11: Do you handle shipping and import documentation?

A: We work with experienced freight forwarders and can arrange shipping from China to any major port. We provide all necessary export documentation (bill of lading, packing list, commercial invoice, certificate of origin). Import clearance and local taxes are the buyer’s responsibility, though we can assist with technical documentation for customs.

Q12: Can I visit the factory before ordering?

A: Yes. We welcome customer visits to our manufacturing facility in Jingzhou, China. You can inspect ongoing production, view completed rigs, meet your project manager, and discuss specifications face‑to‑face. Please schedule at least two weeks in advance.

Q13: What if I need spare parts in a hurry?

A: We maintain a global spare parts inventory at our main factory and selected regional hubs. For emergency shipments, we can send parts via DHL/FedEx within 24 hours. We also provide a recommended spare parts kit with every rig purchase.

Q14: Are your rigs compliant with European CE standards?

A: CE certification is not typically required for oilfield rigs in Europe, but we can provide documentation and third‑party inspection to meet local requirements. For EU customers, we recommend discussing specific certification needs before ordering.

Q15: What is the difference between XJ and ZJ series?

A: XJ series – Primarily workover rigs, though some models can drill shallow wells. Designed for pulling tubing, rods, pumps, and remedial work. Lower profile, faster rig‑up, lighter chassis.
