Applications

The mobile fracturing station is ideal for a wide range of well stimulation and fluid pumping jobs where a full frac spread is impractical:

1. Remote Single‑Well Fracturing (Tight Oil, Shale Gas)

Smaller unconventional reservoirs that don’t justify a full 12‑pump spread. Our 1,500–2,500 HP station can handle 5–10 stage jobs at 20–40 BPM. Used extensively in remote areas of Wyoming, Argentina’s Neuquén Basin, and China’s Ordos Basin.

2. Offshore Platform Fracturing

Jack‑up rigs and fixed platforms have very limited deck space. Our 20′ skid fits through standard platform hatches and can be lifted by the rig’s crane. The electric drive version connects to platform power, eliminating diesel exhaust.

3. Acidizing & Matrix Stimulation

For acid jobs (HCl or mud acid), our station with stainless steel additives pumps and corrosion‑resistant fluid end delivers precise injection rates. The blender mixes acid with additives on the fly.

4. Cementing & Squeeze Cementing

The mobile station can be configured as a high‑pressure cement pump. The hydration tank mixes cement slurries, and the pump displaces at up to 10,000 psi. Ideal for squeeze cementing in remote wells.

5. Well Testing & Flowback Support

During well testing, you often need a backup pump for kill fluid or circulation. Our mobile station can be rigged up in minutes to provide high‑pressure contingency pumping.

6. Water Injection & Disposal Wells

For produced water injection or saltwater disposal, the station operates as a continuous high‑pressure water pump. The electric drive version is quieter and more efficient for long‑term injection.

7. Mining & Geothermal Applications

Dewatering mines or pumping geothermal brine – our mobile station handles abrasive and high‑temperature fluids with optional trim upgrades.

Product Types & Models

We offer several configurations of mobile fracturing station to match your operation:

Model Power Drive Best For Transport
SJ‑MFS‑1000D 1,000 HP Diesel Small remote fracs, acidizing 20′ skid, truck or trailer
SJ‑MFS‑1500E 1,500 HP Electric Offshore platforms, injection wells 20′ skid, crane‑liftable
SJ‑MFS‑2000D 2,000 HP Diesel Single‑well fracs (10+ stages) 30′ skid, flatbed
SJ‑MFS‑2500D 2,500 HP Diesel Larger remote fracs, cementing 30′ skid, heavy haul
SJ‑MFS‑Custom Custom Diesel/Electric Special fluid, high pressure Designed to order

Containerized Version: We can mount the entire station inside a standard 20′ or 40′ shipping container. This allows transport by ship or rail, then forklift or crane offload. The container doors open to provide weather protection for the operator.

Why Choose SJ Petroleum Machinery?

1. Sinopec‑Owned – Field‑Proven on Thousands of Remote Wells

SJ is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sinopec, which has drilled and fraced wells in some of the world’s most challenging terrains – the Tibetan plateau, the Gobi desert, and offshore islands. Our mobile fracturing station was developed specifically for those conditions. It’s not a lab prototype; it’s a workhorse.

2. 80+ Years of Pump & Blender Design

Since 1941, we’ve been building high‑pressure pumps and fluid mixing systems. The mobile station combines that heritage with modern skid design. Every component – pump, blender, hydration tank – is built in our own factories, not assembled from cheap imports.

3. All‑in‑One Integration – No Finger Pointing

When you buy a standalone pump from one vendor and a blender from another, you’re the integrator. With SJ’s mobile station, we integrate everything – piping, controls, drives, safety systems – and test the complete unit before shipping. One phone number for support.

4. Fast Mobilization – Lower Operating Cost

A full frac spread costs tens of thousands of dollars per day in rig‑up time alone. Our mobile station can be pumping within 2 hours of arrival. For a 5‑day job, that saves 2–3 days of non‑productive time. The math is simple: faster rig‑up = lower cost per stage.

5. API 7K & 16C Certified – No Compliance Surprises

All pressure‑containing components (pump fluid end, valves, fittings) are API monogrammed. We supply full certification packages – mill certs, NDE reports, hydrotest certificates – that your HSE and engineering teams expect. No "will comply” promises.

6. Shorter Lead Times & Competitive Pricing

Typical lead time for a mobile fracturing station: 4–6 months for 1,000–1,500 HP models, 6–8 months for larger units. Western competitors often quote 10–14 months. Pricing is typically 25–40% lower for equivalent capability.

7. Remote Support & Operator Training

We provide:

  • On‑site commissioning (3 days)

  • Operator training (classroom + hands‑on, 5 days)

  • 24/7 phone/WhatsApp support

  • Spare parts kits (pump valves, seals, blender auger sections) shipped within 24 hours

8. Scalable – Add More Units for Higher Rate

If one station isn’t enough, you can operate two or three in parallel. Each station has its own PLC, and we can link them via Ethernet for synchronized control. This gives you the flexibility of a full spread without buying all the pumps at once.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: How much proppant (sand) can the mobile station handle?

The station includes a sand auger system. For a typical job, you place a sand bin (20–50 ton) next to the skid, and the auger pulls sand from the bin into the blender tub. The station does NOT include onboard sand storage (to keep the skid size small). We can supply portable sand bins as an option.

Q2: Can I use this station for high‑rate slickwater fracs (80+ BPM)?

No – the mobile station is designed for 10–50 BPM. For high‑rate slickwater fracs (80–120 BPM), you need a conventional multi‑pump spread. The mobile station is ideal for lower rate jobs: acidizing, cementing, matrix stimulation, small‑stage conventional fracs, or remote locations where a full spread can’t access.

Q3: What fluid types can the blender handle?

The blender can handle:

  • Slickwater (friction reducer + water)

  • Linear gel (guar or HPG)

  • Crosslinked gel (with delayed crosslinker)

  • Acid (HCl, mud acid, organic acids) – requires stainless steel additive pumps

  • Foam (nitrogen or CO₂) – requires nitrogen injection skid (optional)
We have run all of these in the field.

Q4: How much water do I need for a typical job?

Depends on stage length. For a 20‑stage frac at 40 BPM, each stage might use 3,000–5,000 bbl of water (the station doesn’t store water – it draws from a tank or pond). You’ll need external water storage (frac tanks or lined pits).

Q5: What’s the power requirement for the electric drive version?

Electric motor options: 1,000 HP = 750 kW, 2,500 HP = 1,900 kW, at 480V or 4,160V (medium voltage). We include a soft starter or VFD. You provide the grid connection or generator. Offshore platforms typically have sufficient power.

Q6: Can the station be operated remotely?

Yes. We offer a wireless remote panel (range up to 500 ft) with emergency stop and basic controls (pump start/stop, pressure setpoint, sand rate). The remote does not replace the main PLC but allows the operator to stand away from the high‑pressure lines.

Q7: What certifications are included for international shipping?

Each station includes:

  • API 7K monogram for the pump

  • API 16C for choke/manifold components (if included)

  • CE marking for EU (optional)

  • ABS or DNV classification for offshore (optional)

  • Material and test reports (complete traceability)

Q8: Do you offer financing or rental options?

Yes. We offer:

  • Rental – daily or monthly rates for short‑term projects (minimum 1 month)

  • Lease‑to‑own – apply up to 70% of rental fees toward purchase

  • Financing – through Sinopec’s finance arm (competitive rates for qualified buyers)
Contact us for current rental fleet availability.

Q9: How do I get a quote for a mobile fracturing station?
