Product Types – Cementing Tools by Category

We organize our cementing tools into seven logical families for easy selection:

Category Products Key Feature
Float equipment Float shoes, float collars (poppet or flapper valve, drillable or non‑drillable) One‑way flow prevention
Cementing heads Single plug, dual plug, swivel type, high‑pressure (15k psi) Controlled plug release
Wiper plugs Bottom plugs (drillable), top plugs, tandem plugs Fluid separation, casing wiping
Centralization Bow‑spring centralizers, rigid centralizers, spiral centralizers Casing standoff
Accessories Stop collars, cement baskets, rubbing strips Position control, fallback prevention
Stage tools 2‑stage collars, 3‑stage collars, opening/closing plugs Multi‑stage cementing
Manifolds & swivels Cement manifold, casing swivel Rotation during cementing, line distribution

We also supply liner hanger systems (API 10F) – hydraulic or mechanical set, with tie‑back receptacles – on request.

Why Choose SJ Petro for Cementing Tools?

1. API 10D / 10F Certified – Our tools are manufactured, tested, and documented in compliance with API specifications. Full material traceability from heat number to final test.

2. Field‑Proven Reliability – Over 50,000 cementing tools supplied globally. Our float valves have a documented failure rate of <0.5% in field use.

3. Interchangeable Dimensions – Float shoes and collars are dimensionally interchangeable with major international brands (Halliburton, Weatherford, etc.). No modification needed.

4. High‑Temperature & Sour Service Options – Viton or AFLAS seals for 200°C geothermal wells. NACE MR0175 materials for H2S service.

5. Competitive Lead Times – Standard sizes stocked for immediate shipment (4‑1/2″ to 13‑3/8″). Custom threads and non‑stock sizes: 4 – 6 weeks.

6. Third‑Party Witnessing – We can arrange ABS, DNV, or client‑witnessed pressure tests and dimensional inspections.

7. Global Logistics – Regional warehouses in Houston, Dubai, Singapore stock popular sizes for fast delivery. Air freight available for urgent needs.

8. Sinopec Engineering Backing – Our tools are designed using finite element analysis and field data from thousands of cementing jobs.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What is the difference between a float shoe and a float collar?
A float shoe is attached to the bottom of the casing string; it guides the casing and contains a check valve. A float collar is placed one or two joints above the shoe and provides a secondary check valve. Many operators use both for redundancy.

Q2: What type of valve is better – poppet or flapper?
Poppet valves (spring‑loaded) provide positive sealing but have a smaller flow area. Flapper valves have a larger flow area and lower pressure drop but may not seal as reliably with debris. For most primary cementing, flapper valves are preferred. For high‑differential or abrasive fluids, poppet valves are better.

Q3: Can your float equipment be drilled out?
Yes. Our aluminum and phenolic float shoes and collars are fully drillable with a PDC or roller cone bit. Steel body tools are not drillable – specify non‑drillable only for permanent installations.

Q4: What casing thread connections do you support?
Standard: API 8‑round (BTC), LTC, STC. Premium: VAM TOP, Hydril 511/521, Tenaris, etc. We can manufacture to most proprietary threads – please provide thread specifications.

Q5: How many centralizers do I need per casing string?
This depends on hole deviation, casing size, and standoff requirements. As a rule of thumb: one centralizer per joint in deviated holes; one per two or three joints in vertical wells. Our engineers can run centralizer placement software to optimize spacing.

Q6: What is a stage collar used for?
When you cannot circulate cement to surface in one stage (weak zone, lost circulation, excessive hydrostatic pressure), a stage collar allows you to pump the second stage cement through side ports higher up the casing. This reduces hydrostatic pressure on lower formations.

Q7: Do you provide liner hangers?
Yes. Our SJ-LH series liner hangers are API 10F certified, available in hydraulic or mechanical set, with tie‑back sleeves and running tools. Contact for separate data sheet.

Q8: What is the pressure rating of your cementing heads?
Standard: 5,000 psi working pressure. High‑pressure models: 10,000 psi and 15,000 psi. All cementing heads are hydrostatically tested to 1.5× working pressure before shipment.

Q9: How do I know if I need a high‑temperature float shoe?
If your bottomhole circulating temperature (BHCT) exceeds 120°C (250°F), standard Buna‑N seals may degrade. We recommend high‑temperature (Viton/AFLAS) seals for up to 200°C (390°F). For geothermal wells above 200°C, consult engineering.

Q10: Do you supply tools for NACE / sour gas (H2S) service?
Yes. We offer NACE MR0175 compliant materials on all cementing tools – bodies, valves, and seals. Specify NACE at time of order.

Q11: What is the typical lead time for cementing tools?
Stock sizes (4‑1/2″ to 13‑3/8″ with standard API threads): 2 – 4 weeks. Non‑stock sizes or premium threads: 6 – 8 weeks. Large quantities (>50 units) may extend lead time.

Q12: Do you provide installation tools (running tools) for cementing heads?
Yes. Each cementing head includes the necessary lifting bail, plug release pins, and swivel. Cementing heads are ready to attach to the casing top.

Q13: How are your centralizers different from cheaper alternatives?
Our bow‑spring centralizers are made from heat‑treated spring steel with a zinc or epoxy coating. They maintain restoring force even after passing through tight spots. Cheap centralizers use soft steel that takes a set – providing little standoff in deviated holes.

Q14: Can I order a mixed pallet of tools (e.g., 5 float shoes, 10 centralizers, 2 stage collars)?
Absolutely. We combine shipping to reduce logistics costs. Minimum order value applies for custom manufacturing; stocked items have no minimum.
