Applications – Where These Specifications Are Used
Engineers and procurement teams rely on our offshore equipment specifications for:
-
Greenfield platform design – Select components with matching pressure, material, and connection specs from a single datasheet library.
-
Brownfield retrofits – Find replacement components that match existing flanges, bolt patterns, and control interfaces.
-
Subsea tieback projects – Subsea tree and manifold specifications for water depths to 3,000m. Full material traceability.
-
Regulatory submissions – Submit our API‑compliant spec sheets to ABS, DNV, or Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) for approval.
-
Spare parts procurement – Maintenance teams use our spec sheets to order correct seal kits, valve stems, and actuators without guessing.
-
Training & documentation – Engineering schools and in‑house training departments use our specifications as teaching examples.
Why Choose SJ Petro for Offshore Equipment Specifications?
-
Complete, standardized format – Every spec sheet follows the same structure: general data, dimensional drawing, material list, test requirements, and recommended spares. No surprises.
-
API 6A, 16A, 16D compliant – All published specifications are within API tolerances. We do not invent "special” dimensions that force you to buy proprietary spares.
-
Third‑party cross‑checked – ABS, DNV, and BV have reviewed our specification templates. Many are already pre‑approved for class notation.
-
Digital tools for engineers – Online configurator, CAD models, and notification service save hundreds of hours of research.
-
Custom specification development – If your project requires non‑standard pressures, materials, or dimensions, we write a custom spec sheet for you, including drawings and test plan.
-
No charge for specification sheets – Full datasheets are free to download (registration required for high‑res drawings). We do not hide basic specs behind salespeople.
-
Global compatibility – We specify flange drilling to ISO, ASME, and GOST standards. Connection threads to API, also to DIN or BS if requested.
-
Long‑term support – Spec sheets are version‑controlled. We keep superseded specs available for 20 years to support legacy equipment.
-
Training & onboarding – We provide a one‑day workshop for your engineering team on how to read and apply our specifications effectively.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Are our offshore equipment specifications available for free?
Yes. Basic 1‑page datasheets (pressure, weight, dimensions) are free. Full specification packages (20+ pages including test reports, material certs, and 3D models) require a free registration or a non‑disclosure agreement for large volumes. No payment is ever required for spec sheets.
Q2: How do I know which material class (DD, EE, FF, HH) to choose?
DD – sweet service (no H₂S), moderate temperature. EE – low H₂S (up to 100 ppm), standard offshore. FF – high H₂S (up to 10,000 ppm). HH – high H₂S + high pressure. Our spec sheets include a selector chart. If unsure, we provide a free consultancy call.
Q3: Can you provide specifications for equipment you do not manufacture?
We publish specifications only for products we manufacture. For third‑party equipment, we can provide a cross‑reference guide showing which of our products match or exceed the other brand’s specs. This is useful for fleet standardization.
Q4: Do your specifications include API monogram and PR2 test levels?
Yes. For any product specified as API 6A PR2, the spec sheet includes the pressure and temperature cycling requirements and the acceptance criteria. We can also provide sample test reports showing actual compliance.
Q5: How often are your specifications updated?
We review every specification annually or when API standards change. Major updates (new material classes, new pressure ratings) happen when we introduce a new product line. Minor updates (typos, reference standards) are published immediately. You can subscribe to change alerts.
Q6: Can I get a custom specification for a non‑standard flange or connection?
Absolutely. Many projects require special flange drilling (e.g., metric bolt patterns) or proprietary connections. We will write a custom specification sheet and maintain it for your project only. Additional engineering fee applies.
Q7: Do you provide 3D CAD models in native formats (SolidWorks, Inventor)?
We provide STEP, IGES, and SAT files. For an additional fee, we can export to SolidWorks, Inventor, or CATIA native format. For large assemblies (complete wellhead stack), we can supply the assembly model.
Q8: What is the typical accuracy of dimensional drawings in your spec sheets?
All dimensions are toleranced per API standards (±0.5mm for small features, ±3mm for large). We have had third‑party verification that our as‑built dimensions stay within 0.1mm of drawing. You can request a first‑article inspection report.
Q9: Can I use your specifications to directly issue a purchase order without further engineering?
Yes – many clients do. Our specification sheets include all data needed for procurement: material grade, heat treatment, surface finish, testing, marking, and certification. We accept POs referencing our spec sheet and revision number.
Q10: How do I request a full specification binder for a project?
Email specs@sjpetro.com with:
-
Project name and location
-
List of equipment types needed (e.g., BOP stack, tree, HPU)
-
Pressure rating and material class (if known)
-
Quantity of each
-
Required classification society (ABS, DNV, BV, none)
We will assemble a digital binder (PDFs, CAD files, test templates) and send a secure download link within 5 working days.
