No two jack-up platforms are identical – different leg lengths, deck strengthening, cantilever reach, and power availability. That’s why we don’t force a one-size-fits-all rig.

How it works:
You send us your platform deck drawing and drilling program. Our engineers in the in-house Research Institute (314 technical staff, post-doctoral station) create a layout. We then build, test, and deliver – fully assembled at our 50,000 m² yard with 24 rig-up positions. You can even arrange factory acceptance test (FAT) before shipping.

Q1: Is SJ a manufacturer of complete jack-up rigs (the platform itself)?
A: No – we manufacture the drilling equipment package installed on the jack-up platform: drawworks, mast, substructure, mud pumps, control system, manifolds, etc. We work with shipyards and rig owners to supply the top-side drilling machinery.

Q2: Can your jack-up drilling rig be retrofitted onto an existing platform?
A: Yes. We specialize in retrofits. Provide your deck layout, leg clearance, and existing power supply. Our engineers will design a package that fits without major structural welding.

Q3: What water depths are your rigs rated for?
A: Our drilling equipment itself is depth-agnostic – it’s the platform leg length that limits water depth. But we have supplied modules for jack-ups operating in up to 120m water depth. For deeper water, we also supply equipment for semi-submersibles and drillships – just ask.

Q4: Do you supply spares for jack-up rigs from other manufacturers?
A: For high-pressure manifolds, we offer full interchangeability with major global brands. For other components, our engineering team can reverse-engineer or cross-match specifications.

Q5: What is your typical lead time for a complete jack-up drilling package?
A: 8 to 12 months from order to delivery, depending on customization. Contact us with your project schedule for a firm commitment.

Q6: Do you provide offshore commissioning and crew training?
A: Absolutely. Our field service engineers can sail to your jack-up location for installation supervision, commissioning, and hands-on training for your crews.
