Innovation & Technical Strengths
We don’t just cast metal – we engineer fluid control for the harshest upstream applications. Here’s what sets SJ apart:
-
One-piece forged body gate valves – No welded or bolted sections. Reduced leak paths. Available in 2-1/16” to 7-1/16” sizes, working pressures from 5,000 to 20,000 psi. Metal-to-metal seat seal standard.
-
Fracturing manifold (frac manifold) with integrated flow distribution – Our manifolds combine multiple pump outputs into one high-pressure line, with individual gate valves for each pump. Pressure-balanced design reduces vibration and erosion.
-
Zerk fitting grease injection system – All valves come with built-in grease fittings for stem and seat lubrication while under pressure. Extends seal life between overhauls.
-
Hard-facing & tungsten carbide coating – Flow iron elbows and tees are internally coated with tungsten carbide (TC) or ceramic for extreme abrasion resistance. Sand slurry at 15,000 psi? No problem.
-
Quick-connect hammer unions – Figure 100, 1502, 2002, and 2202 types. Precision machined threads and heat-treated nuts. Full traceability from heat code to finished union.
-
Straight-through and elbow swivels – Allow flexible hose connections without hose twisting. 360° rotation under full working pressure. Needle bearing design for smooth movement under load.
-
Choke manifold systems – Manual or hydraulic adjustable chokes for well testing and kick circulation. Remote control panel option for H2S service.
-
Full material traceability & third-party inspection – Each valve body and flow iron component is stamped with heat number. Material certs (3.1 EN 10204) provided. We accept DNV, TÜV, or ABS witnessed hydrotesting.

Why Choose SJ Petroleum Machinery for High Pressure Fluid Control Products?
-
Sinopec subsidiary – vertical integration – We melt the steel, forge the bodies, machine the seats, and assemble the valves. Full control means consistent quality and shorter lead times.
-
API 6A, 7K, 16C certified – Our manufacturing process is audited annually. We supply to major NOCs and international service companies with full traceability.
-
Over 500,000 high-pressure components delivered – SJ has been making fluid control products since the 1970s. Many valves and fittings are still in service after 20+ years.
-
100% hydrostatic and function tested – Each valve is shell-tested, seat-tested, and operated through full cycles before leaving our shop. Test reports included with every shipment.
-
Interchangeable with major brands – Our gate valves, unions, and swivels are dimensionally interchangeable with SP, FMC, and other API-compliant products. No re-engineering needed.
-
Short lead times – standard items in stock – Common sizes (2-1/16” 10K and 15K gate valves, Fig 1502 unions) ship within 2–3 weeks. Custom manifolds 6–8 weeks.
-
Cost-effective without quality compromise – Typically 20–35% lower than US or European brands for identical API specifications. Our customers include price-sensitive independent operators and major drilling contractors.

24/7 technical support – Our engineers can walk you through installation, torque specs, and maintenance. Replacement seals and seat kits available from regional warehouses.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: What is the difference between your gate valve and a plug valve for fracturing?
A: Gate valves provide straight-through flow with minimal pressure drop – ideal for frac manifolds where sand can settle. Plug valves are better for tight shut-off in well testing. We manufacture both; tell us your application.
Q2: Are your hammer unions interchangeable with Weco® or other brands?
A: Yes. Our Fig 1502, 2002, and 2202 unions are API 6A compliant and interchangeable with Weco® and most other brands. All sealing surfaces and thread dimensions are standard.
Q3: How often should I replace the seals in your high-pressure valves?
A: With typical fracturing service (sand slurry, 15,000 psi), we recommend inspecting stem seals and seat inserts every 30 pumping hours. Use our grease injection ports to extend service life. Seal kits are available.
Q4: Can you provide NACE MR0175 (sour service) certification for your valves and manifolds?
A: Yes. We can supply valves and flow iron with full NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliance. Material certs, hardness tests, and SSC-resistant trim included. Specify "sour service” when ordering.
Q5: What is the maximum working pressure of your flow iron elbows?
A: Standard elbows are rated 15,000 psi for 2” and 3” sizes. For 20,000 psi, we offer Figure 2202 elbows with thicker walls and TC coating. All are hydrotested at 1.5x working pressure.
Q6: Do you provide manifolds designed for a specific number of pumps?
A: Absolutely. We custom-engineer frac manifolds for 4, 6, 8, or more pumps. Each inlet has a dedicated gate valve. We also include a blanking flange for future expansion.
Q7: How do you ensure traceability of your fluid control products?
A: Each body, each union nut, and each swivel component is stamped with a unique heat number and serial number. We retain material certificates, heat treatment records, and test reports for 10 years.
Q8: What is your typical warranty for valves and flow iron?
A: 12 months from shipment against defects in material and workmanship. Wear parts (seals, seats, grease fittings) are not covered under normal service conditions.
Q9: Can I get a custom coating on the internal surfaces for extreme abrasion?
A: Yes. We offer tungsten carbide (HVOF), ceramic, and chrome oxide coatings. Specify the expected sand concentration and particle size for coating thickness recommendation.
Q10: How do I order a replacement valve or union urgently?
A: Call or email our spares desk with the serial number from the product (stamped on the body). We will cross-match and ship from our nearest stocking warehouse. Typical air freight delivery: 3–7 days.
